Hey Everybody,
I hope you all have the idea by now that Sacramento is a great place!

Middle of the Road – Sacramento (a wonderful town)
The song “Sacramento” in this video was a number one hit in the UK in 1972
by the band “Middle of the Road“.
Labor Day is Monday, September 1st, and that might be a great time to check out the fun on the River. It’s not just a coincidence they call Sacramento “River City”!
Put on your floaties and grab the sunscreen!

Some people think you have to leave the state or at least go out of town to have a fun vacation. Even though the price of gas has gone down a few cents, I still think whoever thought up that new word “staycation” has a great idea. If you spend a little time exploring Sacramento I think you can find lots of entertaining things to do.

There’s still time to load the kids in the car and head over to Cal Expo for the California State Fair. It started August 15 but the gates won’t close for the final time in 2008 until September 1st (Labor Day). Cost for a ticket is only $10 unless you’re a senior (ages 62+) then it’s just $8. Hey that’s a great idea, get Grandma and Grandad to take the kids while you hit the golf course. It only costs $6 for ages 5 to 12 and kids under 4 are free.
Can’t beat a deal like that…..not many places you can find free stuff and have fun at the same time. There’s lots of specials too, if you come to the Fair on Monday or Thursday you can park for free if you come before 4:00PM. The State Fair has free concerts going on too with a wide variety of acts. The series started August 15th with Smash Mouth and has had some oldies as well as newcomers. Jessica Simpson was there Monday, she’s gone country you know. Even though it’s too late for Jess there’s stil lots of others to come. To get your free ticket just show up at the Golden 1 Stage at 4:00PM to recieve a concert wrist band.
Hey kids, if you read 3 books and fill out a read and ride form at Guest Services you can get 3 free carnival ride tickets!
And best of all, don’t forget the food! It wouldn’t be a real State Fair without a corn dog and some cotton candy. Why not go all out and have a Fried Twinkie??? What could be better lots of free stuff and junk food too! So have a great “Staycation” and I’ll see you at the fair!!
