Yahoo is thinking about pennies too!
Since I posted the article earlier “A penny for your thoughts“, Yahoo News has featured an article about the new pennies as well. Just click on this Yahoo News link to see their take on the whole new penny design.

I like the idea of giving new designs for pennies. I don’t know what it is, but everywhere I go I look down and find a penny. I have a jar at home with hundreds of pennies. Now I know I won’t get rich, but it is fun gathering them up on almost a daily basis. The sad thing is they are soon to be history. Yep, I fully believe that they will go the way of the dinosaur. If memory serves me, a while back “they” spoke of the fact that it is costing more than one cent to produce a penny. Even though the penny will be missed, it makes (cents) sense to say goodbye. I bet the retailers out there will be sure and round up the prices an tax to insure that we will be paying a bit more for goods and services when the penny goes away. Thus is life.
