Halloween Superstore

Published by sara under Good Deals, Must See Places, Shopping

Every day we hear about businesses closing and what a downhill slide our economy is taking.  We’ve seen our share of that here in Sacramento.  One example of this is the national chain “Linens and Things”, which is still in the process of closing several stores.  (By the way I got some real bargains at the one in Natomas which is closed now.)  But the good news is, just a few days after that store closed the building re-opened as a Halloween Superstore.  Kind of like the “cycle of life”, one dies but another is born.  I know this may be a temporary business because Halloween will be here before you know it, but it gives me hope because free enterprise is definitely still alive in Sacramento.

Since I want to encourage this spirit of free enterprise, I decided to visit the Halloween Superstore.  It is in the shopping center just off the Truxel Road exit on I80 close to the Target store.  I was amazed at just how many Halloween things there are to buy.  No wonder they decided to call it “super”.  I found costumes for everyone from the dogs and cats in your house to costumes for kids as young as under 3 months all the way up to “plus size” adults.  If your dog wants to be “super dog”, or your baby wants to be a monkey it can happen.  If you feel the need for giant fairy wings they have them or maybe your inner-child is fighting to come out, then you can buy an adult size diaper and giant pacifier to go with it.  Or maybe you always wanted to be an airline pilot, or a cowboy, or a rock star; it’s all there at the Halloween Superstore.

They also have lots of accessories for your home.  If you want you could turn the front yard into a graveyard with a bunch of fake tombstones.  Personally I think I’ll just keep it simple and buy one of the tee shirts with a knife sticking out of it and blood on it (fake of course).  Maybe I’ll need a wig too; they have all kinds, long black Elvira type, blond and curly, or even clown hair if you’re feeling kind of funny.

I had a great time at the Halloween Superstore so I highly recommend that you check it out.  Maybe you’ll find something boootiful to wear for Halloween!
