Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Patch is Closed

Have you got your pumpkin yet, everybody needs one you know.  It’s something you have to do in October to show your Halloween spirit.  If you are one of those that needs to stay away from sharp objects, you can just draw a face with a Sharpie to make a jack-o-lantern.  But sadly you won’t be able to go to “Sleepy Hollow” the Pumpkin Patch in Roseville for this fall rite of passage.  After 20 years they are closed for good.  They had not only pumpkins, but rides for kids and it was just a fun time.  They estimated their losses at $50 thousand when thieves stole tools and copper from vehicles and ride cables.  This was just too much to overcome and they are selling the rides on eBay and closing Sleepy Hollow forever.

Since “Sleepy Hollow” is closed I searched for and found some other pumpkin patches in or near Sacramento.  Just click on this link to find a pumpkin patch near you.

I Love the World!

I think I just discovered why there aren’t more clashes on the debates.  They have all been on YouTube watching this video from the Discovery Channel.

Politics as Usual……That’s Debatable!

Published by sara under Politics, Sacramento People

It seems that all we have done this week is watch political debates on television.  First the Vice-Presidential debate with Biden and Palin, they were so nice to each other it almost made us all sick.  We all know Biden was just itching to tell Palin that lipstick she was wearing was the same shade his pet pig likes, but not a word about it.  Old Joe kept his cool.  And I didn’t even hear one  mention about having to hurry home and check on Russia.

Next there was the Sacramento Mayoral debate with current Mayor, Heather Fargo, and her opponent Kevin Johnson.  There were a few sparks in this one, but no bonfire errupted.

Then last night we had the McCain and Obama debate, (notice I listed them in cronological order, oldest first).  This one wasn’t a real fire starter either.  The USA Today headline said “Round 2: No big flubs, no knock outs”.  I don’t know about everybody else, but I’m looking for a little more excitement.  I want them to forget about being so polite and get a little attitude.  Stop hugging each other and square off.  I saw those high heel boots Sarah Palin was wearing the other day and she looked like she was ready to start living on the edge.  So take off the gloves, put on your high heels and make some sparks.
