Mostly Ghostly a Fun Movie for the Younger Set

Published by sara under Movies

If you’re looking for something a little spooky but fun for the younger set “Mostly Ghostly” is a PG movie directed by Rich Correll, the co-creator of the smash hit series Hanna Montana.  The film is based on the first book of the Mostly Ghostly series, Who Let the Ghosts Out?, from noted author R. L. Stine.

Mostly Ghostly was released on DVD September 30th, so you can rent or purchase it for lots of Halloween fun.  It is also on the Disney Channel on Thursday at 8:00PM and Friday at 12:00PM.

Here’s a short synopsis of the movie:
Mostly Ghostly follows Max (Sterling Beaumon), who is not your typical 11-year old. Although quite intelligent and a gifted magician, Max is the subject of frequent bullying at school and hasn’t had much luck at winning the heart of his popular crush Traci (Ali Lohan, Lindsay Lohan’s younger sister).  But what really sets Max apart is his ability to see ghosts,  specifically, the ghosts of siblings who used to live in his house, Nicky (Luke Benward, from the film How to Eat Fried Worms) and Tara Roland (Madison Pettis from Hannah Montana, The Game Plan, Cory in the House, and Horton Hears a Who!).  The Roland ghosts make Max a deal: if he helps solve the mystery of what happened to their parents and protect them from the evil intentions of the demon Phears, they’ll help make his life better.  Max tries to help them solve the mystery, and the three encounter villains and adventures along the way.

Aside from the fun story there are a couple of younger siblings of some very recognizable “Hollywood” names, Ali Lohan, younger sister of Lindsey Lohan and Noah Cyrus, younger sister of Miley Cyrus.  See if you can find the family resemblance.  Plus the mom in the movie Kim Rhodes was the mom in the popular Disney series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody

McCain v Obama Presidential Debate Tonight

Published by sara under Events, Politics

Just a reminder that the presidential debate tonight at 6:00PM is the final chance to see the candidates together trying to persuade us to vote for them.  Since time is running out, everyone seems to think sparks are really going to fly. So if you can’t watch be sure to set the TiVo.

McCain v Obama

Not to repeat myself because I’ve mentioned it before, but you only have 5 more days to register to vote in order to help decide this election.  Voter registration ends October 20, 2008.
