“Freedom’s Sisters” comes to Central Library in Sacramento

Sounds like a patriotic rock group, but “Freedom’s Sisters” is really a walk through history.  The exhibit “Freedom’s Sisters,” honoring 20 African American women for their work in the cause of civil rights opens Saturday, October 25, at Sacramento Central Library, 828 I Street, Sacramento, CA, 95814, located downtown and will continue through January 4, 2009.  It was put together by the Cincinnati Museum Center, organized for travel by SITES, the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services, and funded by Ford Motor Co.  Sacramento is the second stop, and only West Coast destination, for the exhibit that will tour nationally for three years.  Another fine example of cultural diversity in our Sacramento community.
