That’s a beautiful house.
tempting!!!!!
This house has one of the WORST floor plans of any home I’ve ever seen. What idiot, or group of idiots, thought this was a good plan? You have to walk past the dining room doors simply to turn the corner and then there’s an open wall. You then have to walk down a hall, past the kitchen and breakfast room, through an informal great room to get to the library. Huh? The kitchen, although claimed to be designed by a kitchen designing god, is an awful layout! What happened to the simple rule of a working triangle? And can we talk about the horrible color palette? Not to mention that two of the bedrooms in the basement have to share a bath – that doesn’t even have a tub! This plan is cut up, ill conceived, and tackily executed. Amazing what people think is good taste. I guess the saying is true – just cuz you have money doesn’t mean you automatically have taste. This is one of the most tasteless homes I have ever seen. You couldn’t pay me to live there.
Why does my comment need revision? Because I said that the house is cut up, has an awful floor plan, has an awful color palette, and that the saying is true: simply having money doesn’t mean having taste?
Janice, thanks for the comments. I haven’t visited the house so it is great to get feedback from someone who has taken a real look.
Wow, Janice L. must have an incredible house if you couldn’t pay her to live there!!!!
Janice must be a rich old woman, for a poor man like myself. I would run with the Cash.
I actually live in this house and I love it. This house is a perfect house for anyone except if you don’t have taste of what a beautiful house looks like then you shouldn’t buy a ticket. It’s awesome for parties and entertaining. Awesome neighborhood and amazing families. Great backyard to running around with dogs and playing volleyball in the summer. The patio is where I gaze at the stars in the summer and dance around out there. Taking care of the vineyards are one of my parents favorite bonding times too. I really love living at this house. It was custom made and the reason why the down stairs showed doesn’t have a bath in it was because I hated taking baths when I was younger so my dad who is the archotect who designed it didn’t put it in. I hope whoever wins this house loves it!!!
WOW! This is such a beautiful house…something I have only dreamed of living in since I was a kid. Although my home now is decent, it doesn’t compare to this house and I probably will never live in one that does. If I can spare the price for the raffle ticket I think I am going to enter! Unlike Janice…I don’t care what the floor plan is like. She must have no clue what it would mean to someone who is less fortunate than her to live in such beauty!!! When I think back to homes I lived in growing up and in my early adult years…you better bet you wouldn’t have to pay me to live in this house, I would live there for free! Allison, your father did an amazing job on this house!
I wonder how many entries they’ve had???
Hi, Allison! It’s been a while since your post…today was the drawing, as I’m sure you know. And as much as I and my two girls love your house, we didn’t win
I was sure we were going to win…I pictured Xmas there, family get-togethers, starting traditions, growing old there, etc…don’t know what happened. The lady that won wasn’t even there!!…I truly hope, if she chooses your home, that she loves it half as much as we do…
All along, since I entered the drawing, I was thinking of myself and my family. When I read your post it made me sad to think that maybe the circumstances of how your home came to be the grand prize are not so pleasant…I hope this is not the case. Anyway, thanks for sharing a little about your home here and God Bless.
Hi Yesenia,
Keep your ears open…we might be putting it back on the market! Shh….Christmas is SO fun here
We just had a big pool party for Memorial Day and a Wedding here earlier this month. Lots of fun.
REALLY!! WOW!…I will definitely be looking out! By the way, the radio announcement that I heard when I entered the drawing said your home was in Roseville but the RMHC website never confirmed it. Can I ask you where your house is?
Where can I find the list of winners?
I myself bought 2 tickets.
Hi,
I know this raffle is long over with, but I’m hoping someone still checks this site since I am interested in doing the same thing with my house, to benefit another local charity. I would love to discuss with anyone who might be able to provide me with some helpful information.
Thank!
Allison,
Where is this house located. It looks like a great area and I would like to look at other homes in the area….
Every time I see this picture I get goose bumps! The front picture of this home is so similar to the image I’ve had of my dream home since I was a little girl. So of course I had to purchase a ticket. Even though I didn’t win any prizes or my dream home I consider the raffle ticket to be a win-win purchase. Who wouldn’t want a chance to win a beautiful home and help children in need in the process?!?! I have already purchased my ticket for 2010 raffle but this time got in on the early bird drawings!
FOR ALLISON RE COMMENTS MADE BY JANICE–EVEN THOUGH I ENTERED AND DID NOT WIN-THIS IS AN AMAZING HOUSE AND THIS RAFFLE IS FOR A VERY GOOD CAUSE. MAYBE JANICE SHOULD THINK ABOUT WHAT SHE REALLY FEELS ABOUT HOUSE. MAYBE SHE NEEDS SOME VERY GOOD FRIENDS AND SOME VERY NICE PETS IF SHE DOES NOT ALREADY HAVE THEM.
