It’s a new day for America and we hope all the grand plans and the “Yes We Can!” attitude filter down to help California and Sacramento back to a stronger economy.

Sacramento Says Farewell to Ben Underwood

Published by sara under Sacramento People

Ben Underwood the blind teenager that achieved national fame for his ability to navigate with sounds he made by clicking his tongue called echolocation, died peacefully at home Monday.  Ben was only 16 years old, but had wisdom beyond his years.  His family is celebrating his life and not his death which tells us how Ben got his spirit for living.

Ben amazed us by identifying objects with sound and not only finding his way around but also riding bikes, roller blades and playing video games.  We saw him on Oprah, The Ellen Show, and numerous TV news shows.  But the most amazing thing about Ben Underwood was his zest for life and that he didn’t let his blindness stop him from enjoying life to the fullest.  We could all learn a lot from this teenager who was blind but saw the world more clearly than most of us ever do.  If you would like to learn more about Ben or leave a message for his family to express our sadness at his passing you can go to his website benunderwood.com.
