If you need a little spice in your life (of the food variety), check out El Novillero Mexican Restaurant, 4216 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95820.  I have to say it is some of the best I’ve tasted since moving to California several years ago.  Coming from the southwest I can tell you that is a high compliment for a Mexican restaurant, because I have certainly had my share of Mexican food, everything from Taco Bell to my all time favorite Ted’s Cafe Escondido in Oklahoma City (in a class by itself).  Since they said their specialty is carnitas I tried the carnitas dinner platter which came with rice, beans, and avocado slices; they were right, very tasty!  But you don’t have to take my word for it (even though I am somewhat of an expert in the area of Mexican food) try it for yourself and let me know how it compares to your favorite.
