I just saw a promo for a really cool looking thing to do in Sacramento.  You thought you had to head south to the beach for surfing……WRONG!  There is a place in Elk Grove that you can surf without the commute.  Dream Xtreme, 3443 Laguna Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758.  The charge starts at $15 for a half hour and $25 for an hour, or if you really get into it they have an unlimited membership for $95. 

I’m more of a beach bum than a surfer, but it was really fun to watch and made me want to “hang ten” (except it would probably be hang twenty because I would have to just “hang on” with both hands and feet).  Some people thought it might be a little more like snowboarding or water skiing than surfing, but the water’s warm so you don’t have to worry about freezing when you wipe out.   Might be a great place for a birthday party if the kids aren’t too young.

Sunday, March 8, 2009, marks the beginning of Daylight Saving Time for this year.  At 2:00AM Sunday time will melt away and it will be 3:00AM; that hour will be lost until the fall when we find it again.  Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead before you go to bed Saturday night.
