Dog Parks in Sacramento

Published by sara at 8:28 am under Outdoor Fun, Pets

A few months ago when we were looking for a house I saw a cute little dog park nestled in a neighborhood in north Sacramento.  It was a busy place with dogs running and playing with each other while their owners chatted and enjoyed giving their furry friends a little off leash time.  This made me wonder if there were other hidden jewels like this in Sacramento.  With a little detective work I found that there are currently seven dog parks and another set to open in June 2009.  All of them are fenced with a double gate system for safety.  For a list of the dog parks in Sacramento as well as a description and location for each click on this link to the City of Sacramento Department of Parks and Recreation.

    Hi Everyone!
Me and my dog recently moved to Sacramento and have spent a lot of time looking for parks to go to and activities to do together. I have found that manny of the websites out there lack important information (like entrance fees) and are often misrepresented offering at best a single photo of the park.

I decided to rectify the situation as a project in my spare time and create my own website that features all of the rescources I could find for dog is the Sacramento area including Dog Parks, Dog Friendly Destinations, Vets, Boarding, Training, Stores, and Pet Washes. All of these listings are catagorized and displayed on an interactive map so you can click on the items that are closest to you to find out more about them.

My Dog Parks section is rather special in that it features interactive 360 degree images that allow you to experience the park with out leaving the house! I invite you to check it out and I hope my effors will assist you in finding what you need! The web address is http://www.mysacdog.com

    Cheers!

    Hi again,

There is a new dog park opening next month, in September according to the parks and recreations website, called the “North Natomas Regional Park” just off Del Paso behind the Safeway. I decided to go take a look and after seeing it I have to say it is going to be a great dog park. I was able to sneek in and take 360 degree images of it in both the large and small dog areas. If you want to get a sneek peek at it you can see what it has to offer here: http://www.mysacdog.com/page.asp?id=75

I heard a rumor they are/or have built a dog park by the new animal shelter on Bradshaw rd.

Has any one heard the same. I can not find info on it.
