Stimulus Funds Help Sacramento With Road Rehab
The City of Sacramento Department of Transportation announced today that at least five streets will be resurfaced with an overlay as a result of being awarded federal economic stimulus funds. The streets chosen for the overlay, which is the most comprehensive street maintenance treatment, are among the highest ranked streets in the City’s street maintenance database. The database contains background info about all City streets including date of construction, maintenance history and traffic.
Bids for the overlay of the following first priority streets, expected to cost $8.1 million, will be advertised in late May. Construction is anticipated to start in late June or early July.
- Truxel Road: Del Paso Road to Gateway Park Boulevard
- Arena Boulevard: East Commerce Way to Gateway Park Boulevard
- Arden Way: Del Paso Boulevard to Evergreen
- Florin Road: 24th Street to Franklin Boulevard
- Calvine Road: Franklin Boulevard to Bruceville Road

I hope these streets are actually in need of repair.
