Time to Fold Up the Tents for Sacramento’s Homeless Camp
Today is moving day for the remaining few tents at what was once a sprawling tent city along the American River that made national headlines after it was highlighted by Lisa Ling on the Oprah show in February. Many of the residents have already moved to local shelters. The city has agreed to relocate the remaining residents to a shelter at the State Fairgrounds. SMUD owns the property where the tents were located and plans to start fencing off the area later this week.
