Although I’ve been told many times to never purchase a vehicle with black exterior because they are dust collectors and hard to keep clean, the attraction still exists. So when I first encountered the 2009 Lincoln MKX the black paint job pushed this luxury crossover sport utility vehicle into the elegant category.

 

Even with a different color, the MKX is quite an attractive model. The car-based SUV was introduced in 2007 as a replacement for the Lincoln Aviator, which had a truck chassis. Continue Reading »

ARTS in River Park this Saturday

The Arts in River Park Festival is happening Saturday, May 30, 2009, from 9:00AM to 4:00PM at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 6151 H Street, Sacramento, CA.

There will be exhibits from local artisans, and also live entertainment all day, as well as children’s hands-on activities.  There will be something for everyone; everything from Irish dancing to an acupuncture demonstration and all the in-between.  Besides all that there’s no admission charge so load up the kids and head for the Arts in River Park Festival.  Fun for free!

The Lion King Comes To Sacramento

Experience Disney’s “The Lion King” at the Sacramento Community Center Theater, 1301 L Street, Sacramento, CA.  Marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of animals brought to life by award-winning director Julie Taymor.  Thrill to the pulsating rhythms of the African Pridelands and an unforgettable score, including Elton John and Tim Rice’s Oscar-winning song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “Circle of Life.”  Your imagination will run wild when the Tony Award-winning Broadway show returns to the Community Center Theater stage.

So what’s wrong with doing a little borrowing? Nothing, if you happen to be the Nissan automotive group, which decided to use some technology from rival Toyota in a licensing agreement when designing the Altima Hybrid.

 

I’m not exactly sure what benefits Toyota got from the arrangement. But one thing is clear – they produced another rival to go with Honda. The 2009 Altima Hybrid is being hailed by many car experts for its handling, gas-saving capability (33-35 mpg, with a 20-gallon gas tank), comfort, performance, and on top of all that, it looks good.
