‘The Proposal’ a Fun Summer Movie

Published by sara under Movies

If you’re looking for something with an intriguing plot that isn’t predictable then this not the film to see. ‘The Proposal’ is a slice of classic boy-meets-girl. Like other films of this genre, it doesn’t always attempt to make sense of the occasional gap in the plot, nor does it trouble itself with tying up all its loose ends – but there is more than enough here to satisfy. There is the sight of Ryan Reynolds almost naked, Sandra Bullock doing what she does best, romantic comedy, (and by the way guys, she has a couple of scenes “almost” in the buff), and then there’s Betty White who plays “Grammy” the 90 year old grandmother that we all wish we could call our own. President Obama Wants Everybody to Volunteer

Email from Obama

Email from Obama

I’m feeling important again today.  You guessed it; I got another personal email from Barak Obama.  It’s a pretty fancy message too with a video right in the middle; they must have a cracker jack tech team at the white house.  No invites to a cabinet meeting yet, but I’m on the email list.  I also got a notice that I won the Canadian Lottery, an offer for a free cell phone, and a message from a widow in Africa that needs my help getting her money out of the country and away from all the corrupt people trying to cheat her out of her fortune, it’s so bad she has offered me half her money if I will just help her.  I’ll deal with those other opportunities later, but first I need to tell you what the President wanted in his email. Probably the easiest way to do that is just to share it with you, (notice it starts “Dear Friend”, I must be important to be friends with the president) so here it is: Continue Reading »

All Americana Tattoo Festival in Sacramento

Published by sara under Events, Good Things to Know

All American Tattoo Festival is happening at the Sacramento Convention Center, 1400 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, this weekend, June 19 – 21, 2009.  Tickets are $20 per day and $40 for the weekend.  Click on this link for schedule and information.

Tattoos are not just for sailors and bikers anymore; according to a Harris Poll conducted last year 14% of the population says they have a tattoo, and among certain age groups that number rises sharply.  Age 25 – 29 account for 32% and 25% of those age 30 – 39 have tattoos.

Also the standard tattoo isn’t just “MOM” or a single rose anymore; tattoos have evolved to become art with the body as a canvas.
