PETA Wishes Obama Wouldn’t Hurt A Fly
Just when you think you’ve heard everything…..think again.
“We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,” PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. “We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.” The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants President Obama to try taking a more humane attitude the next time he’s bothered by a fly in the White House. PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.
I was amazed that anyone would really comment on whether or not the President killed a fly that was interrupting his conversation, but leave it to PETA to find a negative spin. I saw the video that was taken during Obama’s interview where he killed the fly and in his defense he did warn the little guy more than once to vacate the premises but he didn’t heed the warnings. Too bad Obama isn’t a cop, maybe then he would have just tazed the sucker and not had the wrath of PETA for killing a fly.
I personally was impressed with the Ninja President and his quick moves. Makes me feel secure knowing he will be able to grab that 3:00AM phone call before it goes to voice mail. Maybe PETA should give that some thought and just get back to the business of painting fur coats.
In case any of you missed the fly episode with President Obama here it is courtesy of YouTube:
It may be a lot easier to take an organization and their causes seriously if they focused on what was most important instead of nit-picking every tiny incident that happens along.
“Compassion” is a very reletive term and it is not surprising that the word means something entirely different in third-world countries where they are not afforded the luxury of being compassionated for flies.
Let’s focus on real issues people!!!
At least the fly found peace on Twitter! http://twitter.com/aflyobamakilled
