Sunday Jazz Concert at Seymour Park
There’s another free Jazz in the Park concert this Sunday, July 26, at 6pm. Fulton Street Jazz Band is the featured band this year and they are excellent! The concert runs from 6-8 pm and will be located in Seymour Park, just north of Florin Road.
Driving directions: from Florin Road, take Havenside Drive north, take the 1st right onto Southlite Circle and follow around until Southlite is running parallel with the park. You will pass Hopland Ct on your left. The next street on your left is Parkhaven Way. Jazz will be in Seymour Park adjacent to Parkhaven Way at the shady bunch of trees. Alternatively you could access the same area by taking Parkshore Circle off of Greenhaven Drive on the other side of Seymour Park.
The weather forecast is still calling for a high of 100, but we have the Delta Breeze so we’ll have a warm start but a fast cool down!
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic dinner, snacks etc. The Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society donates these free summer concerts to the city as a gesture of appreciation for the city’s annual support of the Jazz Festival.

Fahn & Company is excited to present a very special performance with a true jazz legend: Dave Brubeck and The Dave Brubeck Quartet at the Radisson Hotel Grove, Friday, September 18, 2009 at 7:30 PM. The concert was originally scheduled for 8:00 but was changed when Dave’s protégées The Brubeck Institute Jazz Quartet were added to the bill.
Dave Brubeck’s improvisational approach to jazz piano and composition has earned him virtually every major jazz award during his more than 65-year career
including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. He’s performed before eight U.S. Presidents, princes, kings, heads of state and even Pope John Paul II. Now he’s performing here in Sacramento.
Opening the show will be Dave’s hand picked protégés The Brubeck Institute Jazz Quartet. Downbeat Magazine called these guys “the best college jazz group in the nation”. Don’t miss the chance to see the master and his disciples on the same stage.
