Frank Fat’s 70th Anniversary Special
My friends and I went to Frank Fat’s at 806 L Street, Sacramento, CA, for dinner and found a real bargain. Frank Fat opened his restaurant in downtown Sacramento in 1939 and the third generation of his family is still serving great Chinese food at the same location. To celebrate their 70th anniversary the price for their Special Anniversary Dinner is only $19.39. I’ve heard it said that Frank Fat’s has the best Chinese food in Sacramento and I will have to say after the feast we had I can’t argue with that statement. Since they have been in Sacramento for 70 years I think they will be around for you to check the food out for yourself, but you better hurry if you want to take advantage of the Anniversary Dinner special price because it’s only good until October 31, 2009.
Party like it’s 1939! That’s the motto this month at Frank Fat’s. The Anniversary dinner is served family style, so that meant there was a little negotiation in the way the steak was cooked, but we reached a happy “medium” to satisfy the both the rare and the medium well taste buds. But that was the only compromise we had to make and as for me I would have been glad to sacrifice my portion of steak for a couple extra of the honey walnut prawns which were to die for. There was one member of our group who is a very picky eater, but even that one said the banana cream pie was some of the best he’s ever had. This is the menu for the Anniversary Special and you can see why I called it a feast because you are served all of this not just your choice of entrée.
