This weekend is when we turn the clocks back one hour and it will be dark by 5:00 pm next week. This is a great opportunity to make sure the streetlights on your block are functioning properly. Your home light timers might need adjusting as well. If your streetlight is not working, please call 311 with an accurate address such as “in front of 1234 Pocket Road” or “the south east corner of Pocket Road and Greenhaven Drive.” You can also email the information to 311 at the following address:
311@cityofsacramento.org providing an address or accurate location.
Please note that a street light that fluctuates on and off is “cycling” and is getting ready to fail. Those should be called in as well and noted as cycling.

Know any good kids? The City of Sacramento wants to get to know them too. The City of Sacramento has a Youth of the Month Program designed to highlight good deeds and accomplishments of youth in the City of Sacramento. This program encourages people to look at all of the positive things youth are doing in the community as well as provide incentive for young people to strive for high levels of achievement. Community leaders, students, parents, schools and youth services providers are encouraged to nominate Sacramento youth who have significantly contributed to the betterment of our community.
