Hey Sacramento Scoop Friends,
It’s a sad day in Whoville. Father facebook tells us we have too many friends. Sacramento Scoop has reached the limit of 5000 friends that facebook will allow. I know, seems unreasonable to me too that we can’t just be friends with everybody in Sacramento. But the powers that be, (i.e. father facebook) says we can have no more friends, you know the drill, “Not while you live in my house! As long as you live in my house you will follow my rules, and I say 5000 friends is enough!”
Because of the facebook rule even though we want to accept more friend requests it isn’t possible. Since we are a friendly group at Sacramento Scoop we have created a Fan Page because it will allow us to interact with more people who are a part of Sacramento. So we want to ask all of you that use facebook to go to our fan page and become fans so we can continue to be a part of and grow with the Sacramento community. Just so you know, we don’t have an inflated ego at Sacramento Scoop and to us you aren’t really fans you will always be just friends, no matter what father facebook says. You can click on this link to Sacramento Scoop Fan Page on facebook or the f (facebook button)at the top of the page to become a fan, or really just be friends.
Thanks for being our friend,
Your friends at Sacramento Scoop

Farmer's Market has everything, even UGLY APPLES
I don’t know why, but spring makes me want to turn over a new leaf. I don’t mean just spring cleaning or the first real weekend of working in the yard. No, I mean getting back to the earth, thoughts of growing my own vegetables, maybe I’ll even get some chickens and have fresh eggs and get a cow and make my own butter. Okay, those are visions of grandeur, maybe even hallucinations, but those thoughts did inspire me to visit the Farmer’s Market at 8t h and W Street (the one under the freeway that’s open all year long every Sunday morning from 8:00AM to noon). Sacramento Connect is a partnership created by the Sacramento Bee to join some of Sacramento’s local bloggers with the Bee to form a network that will share a toolbar powered by Meebo, Yahoo and Lingospot customized by Bee web developers. The toolbar appears on the bottom of all the partner blogs as well as all the pages of the Sacramento Bee. The goal of Sacramento Connect is to provide a snapshot of what Sacramento people are looking for and connecting sites to share content and allows readers to search for, find, and share content, photos, and videos using the toolbar to easily share through Facebook, Twitter and email.
Sacramento Connect went live today, Monday, March 29, 2010, with participation from the Sacramento Bee and approximately 25 partner blogs and websites. If you like the toolbar leave a comment and let us know, and if you don’t tell us why. Nothing is ever set in stone, well maybe some of those fossils archaeologists find, but most things aren’t so give some feedback about the new toolbar and our new partnership with Sacramento Connect.
Check out this link to see what Sacramento Connect is all about according to the Sacramento Bee, or courtesy of YouTube you can see a short movie if you would rather not read.

I wrote a post a year ago in March 2009 about Dream Xtreme in Elk Grove, a cool place where you could surf indoors. After someone made a comment and asked if there was an age limit I checked the Dream Xtreme website and found this message:
Dream Xtreme has temporarily closed its doors. Please keep in touch for information regarding our re-opening.
I guess it’s just a sign of the times when new businesses aren’t able to survive, but it does seem a shame that a business that could add a little fun to our lives wasn’t able to make it. We will just keep our fingers crossed that they really do re-open.
