High School Football – ESPN2 Tonight 7:00PM Grant vs Folsom

This sold-out nationally televised match-up of the Folsom Bulldogs and the Grant Union Pacers starts the high school football season with a bang.   The game will air live tonight on ESPN2 at 7:00PM, August 27, 2010, making it Sacramento’s first ever nationally televised high school sporting event.  You can check out highschoolsports.net for info about all your favorite high school teams.

Movie in Fremont Park August 20, 2010

Friday, August 20, 2010, at Fremont Park, 16th & P Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, the Capitol Area Development Authority  along with the City of Sacramento and Friends of Fremont Park present the 3rd annual Movie in Fremont Park.  This viewing of outdoor movies is FREE to the public and includes festivities for children.  CADA hosts this family-friendly summer event in celebration of the Capitol Park Neighborhood.

The feature film is Disney/Pixar’s movie Up beginning at dusk.  Come out early to enjoy pre-movie activities such as Mimo the Clown’s balloon art, face painting, and hot dogs for the first few hundred people.  Kick back under the stars and smell the popcorn, summer is still here!

Movie Night at North Natomas Community Park August 7, 2010

Saturday, August 7, 2010 enjoy a FREE movie in the park at North Natomas Community Park, 5151 Crest Drive, Sacramento, CA.  The movie is “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”.  This is a fun movie for kids and big people as well.  The movie start time is sundown but the fun children’s activities start at 7:00PM.

Ranger Tom is retiring after 28 years of service with the Sacramento Regional Parks Department.  Yep…it’s true, Ranger Tom is hanging up his ranger hat for good.  I’ll bet some of you didn’t even know Ranger Tom has been there all these years keeping us safe from harm when we enjoy our regional parks.  In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of you don’t even know what a park ranger does.  If you enjoy the parks and want to know what Ranger Tom and all his Ranger buddies do for us, read on.
