Cinco de Mayo Means Party Time in Sacramento – May 5, 2010

 

It’s Cinco de Mayo which translates to Party Time in Sacramento.  The giant block party will start early (9:00AM) and last all day (until 2:00AM) rain or shine.  J Street will be closed between 27th and 28th Streets and there will be live music, food and drink.  Admission is $20 at the gates and hundreds are expected to attend, so come on downtown and join the party.   If you want all the detail as well as a great history lesson in the origin of Cinco de Mayo check out this link to News 10 Sacramento.

Brunch is #1 Choice for Mother’s Day May 9, 2010

Mom has cooked for you so many times you can’t even count them so probably that’s why everybody thinks about feeding their Mom for Mother’s Day.  Breakfast in bed is always nice, and a five star restaurant for dinner ranks high on the list too, but most of us are somewhere in the middle of these two choices and that’s probably the reason brunch is so popular for Mother’s Day.  Or maybe it’s because we’re so indecisive we can’t choose…..breakfast or lunch…..so we just take Mom to brunch.  Just be aware the brunch factor is a phenomenon experienced by so many people you may need to do a little advance planning because even people who never have brunch will have brunch on Mother’s Day.  Continue Reading »
