KISS Alive 35 Tour Coming to Arco Arena

Published by sara under Events

KISS, it's all about the makeup!

Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 7:30PM KISS is bringing their Alive 35 Tour to Arco Arena.  Tickets range in price from $19.50 to $128.50 and parking is $12.

Since the band was formed in 1972 there have been numerous changes of personnel with the only constants being Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.  But you would hardly notice because their stage presence has remained constant; it’s all about the makeup.  I guess it’s not “just” about the makeup, it’s about the flamboyant outfits, the fire breathing, the smoking guitars, and oh yeah, the over 80 million albums the band has sold.  Check it out for yourself and see if it really is all about the makeup

Harlem Globetrotters Coming to Sacramento

Published by sara under Events

The Harlem Globetrotters will be at Arco Arena on January 19, 2009.  These guys have a lot of trick shots and dunks as well as comedy routines that will keep you laughing.  Might be a nice change from the basketball we have seen at Arco Arena lately when the Kings play there.  Maybe the Kings could pick up a few moves from the Globetrotters.  If you have an 8 to 5 job it might be a little hard to catch this action because the game is scheduled on Monday, January 19, at 2:00PM.  But maybe you can get off early and miss all the traffic and spend the afternoon watching some good basketball moves.  Tickets start at just $20 click on this link for more ticket information.

Bull Riders are Coming to Arco Arena

Published by sara under Events

The legislators are back at the Capitol and the Bull Riders are coming to Arco, all is well in River City.  I’m not making light of the sport of bull riding, those 8 seconds on the back of a 2000 pound bull are no small accomplishment.  Maybe we should combine the bull riding and legislative budget process.  We can’t agree on a budget, okay, another ride on old Smokey and then we will vote again.  I’ll bet the process would happen a lot faster with that kind of incentive.

All kidding aside, Professional Bull Riding has gone from being a sport in which cowboys could barely earn their entry fees with their winnings to the organized sport it is today that can make millionaires of the successful riders.  Today more than 1200 riders compete in 300 events with 1.5 million live attendees as well as milions on network and cable TV.

If you want to join the excitement come to Arco Arena Saturday, January 17th, or Sunday, January 18th.  Tickets are priced from $11.75 to $101.75 and parking is $12.00.  Click on this link for more ticket info.

On Wednesday, October 29, 2008, Mickey, Minnie and all their friends with the Disney on Ice show will slide across the ice at Arco Arena straight to your heart.  We all grew up with Mickey and the gang and it’s always a welcome treat to take a walk down “Memory Lane”, or in this case a singalong skating adventure.  What could be better than a visit with old friends and the thrill of swooshing around on ice skates combined.  That’s almost like discovering that ice cream is really good for you!

Monday Night Football or Sacramento Kings vs. Portland

Published by sara under Events

This Monday, October 20, is a real dilemma for sports fans!  Do we stay home and watch Denver toss the pigskin with New England or do we support our Sacramento Kings in a pre-season game against Portland at Arco Arena?  For some people Monday Night Football is a staple of life, a weekly ritual, and almost a sacrilege to miss a game.  But on the other hand the Sacramento Kings are our team, part of the Sacramento Family, and we all know blood is thicker than water.  But the real question is, does “family” trump football, or will they understand if we don’t show up for all the family functions?
