Black Friday 2009 is Just around the Corner
Black Friday, sounds like a terrible day, something like “the day the music died” or the stock market crashed, or maybe the end of the world. But quite the opposite of all these dire possibilities, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, the busiest shopping day of the year. Retail businesses dubbed this day “Black Friday” because this busy shopping day helps them move from being “in the red” to being “in the black”, in other words, from being unprofitable to profitable.
There are people who view shopping as a sport and Black Friday is the championship round. Who doesn’t want to win the championship? Keeping in mind it’s good to prepare if you want to win, I have compiled a few websites to help you find Black Friday Deals or find coupons and there’s even a couple of websites that notifies you if the price of an item you want drops. So do your homework, get prepared, and go out there and WIN! WIN! WIN!

The Holidays are a Blur……HalloweenThanksgivingChristmas
I want to be prepared for the big night next Saturday when all the little ghosts and goblins come and ring the doorbell with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads. Oh no, that’s what happens when children go to bed the night before Christmas while they’re waiting for Santa to come. Don’t blame me if I’m a little mixed up; I went to my local discount retailer with all the smiley faces and falling prices to look for Halloween candy and had to fight my way past Christmas trees, ornaments, and stockings made for filling while listening to Jingle Bells in the background. Thanksgiving Is Over And It’s Time To Find A Christmas Tree
I hope everyone survived the Thanksgiving Holiday. Our family had a wonderful time; the only thing wrong was it was too short. Hard to believe all that planning and traveling and cooking……..then poof it’s over. The turkey has been cooked, the relatives stuffed, the football watched, the day after shopping is done, and now, back to work again. Thanksgiving is just the beginning of the holiday season so my next project is to find the perfect Christmas tree. Any and all ideas about this important project will be appreciated.

How To Cook A Turkey
I told you we would talk turkey now that Halloween and the election are over. I know how and have cooked a turkey, but it’s really hard to explain without being able to show you. Since I’m moving soon I really don’t have time to make a video. Actually I’m not sure it’s because of lack of time, it’s probably more of a problem with lack of inclination. (In other words, I don’t really want to.) I could just have you all over for Thanksgiving dinner, but that really wouldn’t teach you to cook a turkey. You know the old saying, give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but teach him to fish and feed him for life. Well just apply that old saying to turkey. If I just cook the turkey for you it would only feed you for a day, but if I teach you to cook a turkey you could invite me over for Thanksgiving Dinner every year, or something like that. I could just give you a recipe and leave it at that, but I think people usually learn better by watching. So I have searched and found a video about how to cook a turkey. Some of the videos are too long and I think you would probably quit watching before you actually learned to cook a turkey so here it is, “How to cook a turkey in 3 minutes.” No the turkey doesn’t cook in 3 minutes, just watch the video and ask questions later.

Time To Talk Turkey!
Now that Halloween is over and the elections are finished we have time to think about Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for here in Sacramento. I for one say “Thank goodness the elections are over!” I am also thankful that the Halloween candy is gone, (I finished the chocolate while I stayed up late watching the election results). Even though I really like sunshine, I am thankful it rained in Sacramento. We can make a longer list of things to be thankful for closer to Thanksgiving Day, but that’s a start in the right direction. In the mean time I am going to look up “how to cook a turkey”, or who will cook it for you, or where can you go out to eat if you aren’t feeling like a chef. So if anybody has any Thanksgiving recipes, or places to go for dinner or just things to add to the “Thankful List” feel free to leave your comments and share with all. So for now I am busy with Thanksgiving research (hard to tell how many pies I might need to taste or restaurants I will have to visit). More to come……..
